There is no single, comprehensive government database that contains all power of attorney (POA) documents. Power of attorney arrangements are typically private legal matters between individuals, and as such, they are not generally recorded in a centralized government system. However, there are some limited circumstances where POA information may be available through certain government channels.

In some jurisdictions, POAs related to real estate transactions may be recorded with the local county recorder’s office or land records office. These documents become part of the public record and may be searchable. However, this practice is not universal and typically only applies to POAs specifically used for real estate purposes.

For medical powers of attorney, some states maintain registries where individuals can voluntarily file their advance directives, including healthcare POAs. These registries are often managed by the state’s department of health or a similar agency. However, participation in these registries is usually optional, so not all medical POAs will be found in these databases.

It is important to note that due to privacy concerns and the personal nature of POA arrangements, access to any existing government records may be restricted. Typically, only the principal (the person who granted the POA), the agent (the person appointed to act on behalf of the principal), or their legal representatives would have the right to access such information.
